App and subscription setup guide

Set up your account and plan first, then add the subscription to an app on your device. Follow the steps below from the user dashboard through to a connection check. Skip any steps you’ve already completed.

App interfaces vary by platform, client and version. This guide uses common labels such as “subscription,” “configuration” and “import from link.” The exact wording may differ in the dashboard or app. If your layout looks different, look for the feature you need rather than an exact button label.

Create an account and save your login details

Open the “Free Trial” link below to go to the account creation page in the VPNKZ user dashboard. No email address is required; just enter a username and password as prompted. Choose a username that’s easy to recognize without revealing personal information. Use a unique password and store it in a trusted password manager.

Before submitting, check your entries, especially input method, capitalization and any spaces at the beginning or end. Follow the dashboard prompts to open your account area. If you’re taken back to the login page, sign in with the username and password you saved. Creating an account and activating a plan are separate steps: seeing the dashboard doesn’t mean you have an active subscription. Check your plan status next.

Where possible, complete the next steps in the same browser to avoid switching to a different account by mistake. Don’t save your password on a shared device, and sign out when you’re done. If you can’t log in, check your username and password first rather than creating another account. See the FAQs for account help, or submit a ticket from the dashboard if you need assistance.

Choose a plan and review your order

Open the plans section in the user dashboard and choose between a monthly subscription and a data package based on how often you use the service. Monthly plans are suited to regular use: ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, or ¥28/month for 500GB. Consider usage across your computer, tablet and other devices. Unlimited devices means there’s no device limit; it doesn’t mean unlimited data.

Monthly data resets on the plan’s activation date each month. If you upgrade mid-cycle, the price difference is prorated for the remaining days. For occasional use, consider a data package: ¥158/300GB, ¥358/1000GB or ¥658/3000GB. Data is available until used and never expires. Compare both the upfront cost and whether you need ongoing access or data you can use over time. See the plans page for a full comparison.

Once you’ve chosen a plan, select it in the dashboard and review the order details, including the plan name, price and data allowance. Follow the payment page instructions to continue. VPNKZ accepts Alipay, WeChat Pay and USDT. For payment details, refer to what’s shown in your current order. After paying, return to the dashboard to check your order and plan status. If the status hasn’t updated, check the original order before trying again.

Once the plan shows as active, move on to copying your subscription. VPNKZ offers a 14-day no-questions-asked refund. See the refund policy for how to apply and what to expect. For a deeper comparison of route types, use cases and billing, see the plan selection guide. This page covers only the steps needed to get started.

Choose this plan

Get your subscription link from the dashboard

Open the account overview and check that you’re signed in to the right account, then review your plan status and available data. Find the subscription section. The subscription link lets an app load route configurations; it isn’t a regular webpage or an installer. Copy it into the subscription or configuration field in your app, not a browser search box.

Use the copy option in the dashboard, then switch to the app you want to use. If the dashboard offers one-click import, you can try it once the app is installed. If your browser asks to open an app, check the app name before continuing. If nothing opens automatically, don’t keep clicking; paste the link manually instead. The next section explains where to import it.

Your subscription link grants access to your account, so protect it like a password. Don’t post it in public forums, shared documents or screenshots, and don’t give it to strangers to configure. Copy the full link without editing its parameters, truncating the address or including extra instructions. If you think someone else may have obtained it, check the dashboard for a reset option and contact support through a ticket for help.

To get your app, use the download section in the user dashboard to find instructions and links for your platform. You must be signed in to access your subscription; the official client download links are available according to your active plan status. This guide doesn’t provide public installers or subscription links, helping you avoid unverified sources and keep your account, plan and configuration matched.

Import the app for your device

First, get an app for your operating system that supports subscription imports, then follow the relevant instructions below. The app reads configurations and establishes connections; the account dashboard manages plans and subscriptions. After importing, you should see a configuration or route list. Installing the app alone usually won’t give you any routes to choose from.

Windows: Find the subscription option in the desktop app

In the dashboard’s download section, choose the VPNKZ desktop app for Windows. Install and open it according to the instructions. Go to subscription or configuration management and look for an option such as “Add subscription” or “Import from link.” Paste the link you copied. If asked for a configuration name, enter a label that’s easy to recognize, then save and update the configuration.

Once the route list appears, set this configuration as the active one and choose a route. If the app separates “Start connection” from “System proxy,” configure each as directed. A route list alone doesn’t mean your browser is using the route. For now, keep the app’s recommended routing rules and avoid changing multiple proxy settings at once. For issues with work apps or games, see the connection and troubleshooting guide.

macOS: Import the configuration and check proxy settings

Use the macOS desktop app link in the dashboard, and check that the installation instructions match your current system. When you first open the app, follow the standard system prompts to grant any required permissions. If you see a source or compatibility warning, check the dashboard instructions rather than searching for an installer on an unknown site. In the app’s configuration or subscription manager, add the subscription from its link, save it and update.

When the configuration has loaded, select it, choose a route and enable the connection. Some apps put quick controls in a menu bar icon, so the main window and menu bar may both show status. Check the active configuration and proxy mode, then test access in your browser. If another proxy app is running, pause any connections you don’t need to avoid conflicting system settings and confusing the results.

Android: Mobile app and system connection permission

In the dashboard’s download section, get the VPNKZ mobile app for Android. Install and open it, then go to the subscription or configuration page. Find the add option, choose import from link, paste the full subscription and save. If the app offers a scan option, use only content shown in your own dashboard. Pasting manually makes it easier to check that you’ve selected the right account and subscription.

After updating, select a configuration and route, then tap Connect. Android may show a VPN connection request; check which app initiated it and follow the standard authorization prompt. Once connected, check the app’s status and test the target website. If the connection works in the foreground but drops when you switch apps, review that app’s background activity and battery settings. Options vary by device, so check your system’s instructions before changing permissions broadly.

iOS: Get a client as instructed in the dashboard and add your subscription

On iOS, use a subscription-compatible app recommended in the dashboard. Get it through its App Store page. Store listings can vary by account region; if you can’t find the app, check the dashboard’s platform instructions rather than installing a similarly named app at random. Once the app is ready, open its subscription or configuration list, choose the add option to import from a link, paste your subscription and update.

If you use one-click import, confirm in the app that the new configuration was added after the browser redirects, then choose a route. The first connection may ask you to allow a VPN configuration; follow the system prompt to authorize it. The system VPN configuration and the route subscription are separate: one grants connection permission, while the other provides service routes. After authorization, return to the app and confirm the configuration is selected and the connection is enabled.

VPNKZ also supports Linux. On Linux, check the relevant instructions in the dashboard download section and import the subscription through the option provided by your client. Don’t reuse installation steps meant for another operating system. On every platform, update the subscription before moving on to the connection check.

Connect to a route and verify it’s working

Return to the app and confirm that the active configuration is the VPNKZ subscription you just imported, with a route list available after updating. For your first connection, choose a region that suits the service you want to use. There’s no need to change the region, proxy mode and app settings all at once. Tap Connect and check the status. If the app reports that it couldn’t read the configuration, check the subscription and plan before assuming the route is unavailable.

Once the app shows that you’re connected, open the browser and visit the website you need. Check the exit information on the network test page. With rule-based routing, different requests may take different paths, so interpret the test results alongside your app’s rules. Don’t judge every app by a single icon or one page result. To investigate further, check the app’s current mode and connection log, then test the specific issue.

If a website loads but AI tools or streaming services still report a region issue, first check whether the selected region is supported by the platform, and keep the region consistent throughout your session. Platforms may also apply their own account, session and service rules. A successful connection doesn’t guarantee access to a particular platform. For more on how routes work and how to choose one, see the plan selection guide. There’s no need to reinstall the app during initial setup.

If you can’t access anything, narrow down the issue in order: check that your local network works, then check your plan and subscription status, update the configuration, review the proxy mode and finally try another route. Change one thing at a time and test again so you can see what made a difference. Subscription import errors, connection failures and individual website errors are different issues. See the FAQs for detailed troubleshooting; there’s no need to explore every setting during initial setup.

If you need help from support, submit a ticket through the dashboard. Include your operating system, app name, the step where the error occurred and the message shown. Before sharing a screenshot, hide your subscription link, username and other account details; never include your password. “Subscription update failed” or “The app is connected, but this website won’t open” is more useful than “It doesn’t work.” Once you’ve verified the connection, keep the account page handy. To add another device later, follow the same steps: get the app, import the subscription and verify the connection.
